Classics for All was founded to help reverse the decline of Classics teaching in state schools. Studying Classics enhances literacy, helps us to connect the past with the present, and expands horizons. These important and fascinating subjects shouldn’t just be for children at independent or grammar schools, so we’re working to ensure that every child, regardless of their background or situation, can access Classics.
We provide high-quality training and support to teachers in state schools so that they feel confident and equipped to teach Classics in their classrooms. Once trained, we offer long-term guidance and advice and provide opportunities for peer learning and development, so that teachers are equipped to sustain Classics teaching. We also offer enrichment activities and opportunities to young people directly, such as through our Greek Academies – free to young people wishing to learn Classical Greek.
