75% of visually impaired adults are older, many living alone with no/limited support networks. They’re extremely isolated & face significant wellbeing challenges including complex health needs; being housebound, poor mental health; difficulties accessing NHS/welfare services, community support, information & advice. They're highly vulnerable to neglect, self-neglect, abuse & exploitation. Without anyone to help with daily tasks & monitor their wellbeing, small problems can quickly become crises.
