In Ghana, more children are in school than ever before, yet thousands are still leaving without the basic skills they need to thrive. Your support equips families, communities and local leaders to strengthen learning both in school and at home, so that every child can reach their full potential.

More children are in school than ever before. Across Africa, 8 in 10 complete primary school, yet only 1 in 10 leave with the basic skills they need to thrive- making them vulnerable to poverty, child labour and early marriage. Learning doesn't begin and end in the classroom. Almost 90% of a child's life happens outside school, shaped by parents, families and community- yet they are rarely equipped to support learning. What if those already raising them could be the ones to change everything?
Families and communities play a vital role in helping children learn and thrive. When parents are actively involved in their child's education, children can gain more than four months of additional learning each year. By equipping parents, community volunteers, teachers and local leaders to support learning, AfriKids helps create stronger learning environments at home, in school and across communities, driving lasting change that gives children greater opportunities to reach their potential.
