Homelessness is rising sharply, with around 187,000 households experiencing homelessness in London (Shelter, 2024). The latest CHAIN Annual Report recorded 13,231 people sleeping rough during 2024/25, a 10% increase on the previous year. 8,396 people were sleeping rough for the first time and 3,028 people were living on the streets over prolonged periods, highlighting the growing complexity of need.
We support homeless people to get off, and stay off, the streets by helping them to: -Access accommodation and understand their entitlements. -Access essential health services e.g. GP appointments, vaccinations, dental care and others. -Reduce/manage their substance use. -Improve their mental health and deal with trauma. -Access food, showers and basic hygiene essentials. -Access learning, training and employability support to enable independent, stable and secure lives away from the streets.
