Families across West Berkshire are increasingly struggling with the rising cost of living and are often forced to make impossible choices between buying essentials for their children and paying for food, rent or energy bills. Many cannot afford basic items such as nappies, clothing, buggies and safety equipment. This financial pressure impacts children's health, safety and development, while increasing stress and anxiety for parents. We aim to relieve this stress.

Home-Start West Berkshire will solve this problem through its Baby Bank, providing free essential baby and children's items to families experiencing financial hardship. Working with trained volunteers and referral partners including health visitors, schools and family support workers, we will collate preloved goods and gift them to families in need. Alongside practical help, families will be signposted to wider support, helping to reduce financial pressure, improving family well-being.
