Every family should have the chance of a holiday. Time away builds hope, aspiration, confidence and resilience – strengthening relationships, boosting self-esteem, and creating space to reconnect and thrive. It gives families the chance to believe in a better future.

In the UK, 21% of residents - one in three children-live in poverty. Families facing hardship, bereavement, disability, or domestic abuse face major barriers to tourism, including cost, accessibility, and lack of awareness. With UK family holidays averaging £1,500–£2,500 and trips abroad often exceeding £4,000, breaks remain out of reach for many families so the benefits of time away– improved well-being, stronger relationships, and hope – remain inaccessible to those who need them most.

Time away together offers hope, strengthens relationships, and creates memories that last beyond hardship. Crucially, holidays also help children and parents build confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of possibility – reminding families of their strengths and giving them space to reconnect and believe in a better future. By making holidays possible, we are helping tackle the social inequalities at the heart of the child poverty agenda.
