The UK is facing a growing end of life care crisis. Almost 1 in 3 people don’t receive the palliative care they need, with people in disadvantaged communities most likely to miss out. As more people live longer with complex illnesses, demand is rising faster than services can keep up. Without investment, more families will be left without the care and support they need when it matters most.
Marie Curie supports people from the moment they receive a terminal diagnosis through to bereavement. We provide free information and support via our Support Line, Companions service and online Support Hub, expert nursing care in people's homes and our seven hospices, and bereavement support for adults and young people. We also campaign to improve end of life care and fund vital research so everyone can access the support they need, regardless of postcode or income.
