People across Lambeth and Southwark are increasingly trapped in cycles of debt, unemployment and financial insecurity. Many struggle with budgeting, accessing employment, and everyday life skills such as cooking on a budget, managing energy use and emotional wellbeing. Without these foundations, households face rent arrears, eviction, isolation and long-term hardship. Small setbacks quickly escalate into crisis.
Since 2015, our debt centre has helped over 160 people become debt-free, with many more on the journey. Our coaches provide in-home support during times of real vulnerability, offering practical debt advice alongside emotional support. The impact restores stability, confidence and hope. We also connect clients to wider CAP services, including job clubs, life skills and money coaching, helping improve work prospects, money management and everyday life skills.
