Many people in Richmond experience loneliness, social isolation and poor mental health. Barriers such as displacement & living alone can leave people disconnected from their communities. In Richmond, 13% of adults experience mental health challenges, and 51% of people over 75 live alone. We address isolation & wellbeing by providing welcoming creative workshops that foster connection and a sense of belonging.
We will deliver up to 32 artist-led workshops designed to improve wellbeing and bring people together, inspired by J.M.W. Turner’s creativity and connection to place. Supported by wellbeing practitioners and delivered in partnership with Richmond Borough Mind, Age UK and Refugees Welcome in Richmond, participants will explore creative skills, build confidence and form meaningful relationships. The programme will reduce isolation, improve mental wellbeing and strengthen community belonging.
