Young people are growing up in a world shaped by increasing inequality, social division, economic uncertainty and climate anxiety. All intensifying emotional strain and impacting their well-being, development and future prospects resulting in unprecedented levels of anxiety and mental health issues. Many also face barriers to accessing safe, inclusive spaces where they can develop confidence, build relationships, explore their values, nature and take action on issues that affect their lives.

Woodcraft Folk, through our 300+ volunteer run local groups, addresses this problem by creating welcoming, safe, inclusive communities where young people learn through participation, co-operation and shared experiences. Volunteers deliver activities, residential experiences, campaigns and social action projects that engage children and young people. Through this work, young people develop teamwork, leadership, communication and critical thinking skills while exploring themes important to them.
