LBU, the home of Child Action Nepal (CAN), welcomes abandoned children and orphans into a loving family. Education is key to a happy, stable future. This campaign will ensure our children access the highest-quality primary and secondary schools, followed by vocational training or university.

In Nepal, unsupported children often miss out on education beyond basic schooling. Without family help, stable housing and good English, many face a future of low-paid, manual work, exploitation or dependency. Government schools often lack qualified English teachers. Grade 10 exams (at age 15-16) are tough, and a fail in English blocks entry to further education, leaving few options for youngsters. Extreme poverty, low family literacy and pressure on girls to marry early deepen the problem.
LBU children attend a leading private school, building English skills vital for future work, and where sports and arts cater to physical and mental health needs. At home, the older children help younger ones to do their homework every day. Depending on abilities and interests, we support them through university or vocational training, and help them secure internships abroad to gain experience and new perspectives. As they grow up, they stay connected, mentoring the next generation of children.
