Over recent years we have experienced a surge of demand for support in the Family area of law. All funds will support a dedicated caseworker in this area, allowing us to match the needs of our applicants and extend vital legal support further and faster at a time when it is needed more than ever.

Every year, thousands face complex legal problems without access to legal aid and without the means to afford representation. Recent reductions in legal aid have coincided with growing demand for our services. While we do not replace legal aid, we provide an essential route to justice. As the only charity facilitating pro bono barrister assistance across all areas of law, courts and tribunals in England and Wales, we help people navigate some of the most complex and life-changing legal issues.
We connect those who need legal help with volunteer barristers willing to donate their expertise. Applications are reviewed and assessed to ensure cases are suitable for pro bono assistance and have a reasonable prospect of benefiting from legal support. We then place eligible cases with barristers who can provide advice, drafting, representation, or mediation. Alongside this, we support volunteers, build pro bono capacity across the Bar, and provide a fair, transparent, and accessible service.
