Christmas is a time for togetherness and celebration, but for some it's a season of isolation, financial worries and hardship. Each year, we support our community by offering free meals on Christmas Day, food to take home, winter jackets, toys for kids, and the chance to spend time with one another.

Areas nearby Easter Road Stadium are among the top 5% most disadvantaged in Scotland (SIMD, 2020): Restalrig and Lochend Granton South/ Wardieburn/ West Pilton/ Muirhouse South Leith Craigmillar and Niddrie Dumbiedykes In these areas 34-39% of children live in poverty. Many New Scots housed in Edinburgh struggle to integrate into our local community. Social Isolation puts people at a greater risk of mental health issues, and can increase chances of early mortality by 26%.

We work in partnership with support bodies to engage vulnerable people, those living in poverty, at risk of social isolation and refugees and asylum seekers. We will open Easter Road Stadium on Christmas Day, providing a warm, inviting space and Christmas Day meal. Food delivery service or transport for those who struggle to make it to the Stadium. We will also provide additional take-home food packages, Christmas gifts for all attendees and warm winter jackets.
