Ten babies die suddenly and unexpectedly in England and Wales each week, devastating the families affected.  Our work has helped to save almost 32,000 lives since 1991 - an 81% reduction in SIDS rates which shows that baby safety advice is essential. We must ensure that everyone involved in the care of a baby is aware of, has access to, and is following this advice to protect families and give babies a safer start in life.
We will continue to drive UK government policy and make systemic changes across healthcare and Early Years provision to save more babies’ lives, sooner. We will reach and empower more families and professionals with our trusted baby safety advice, backed by research, through our website, social media, publications and training. And, if a family experiences the death of a baby, we are with them in grief. We provide compassionate bereavement support, side-by-side, for as long as they need us.
