Girls in rural Ejerie, Ethiopia have no access to computers, digital resources or IT training. Without electricity or equipment at school or at home, they fall further behind their urban peers every year, limiting their chances of further education and future employment. Last year, you helped us fund the infrastructure for our new IT Centre. This year, we need to finish the job and open our doors!
We're building an IT Centre in Ejerie with our partner on the ground, FDA-E. Last year's campaign paid for the core equipment: computers, desks and the IT trainer's salary. This year's funds cover what's still needed to finish the space and open it: storage, teaching resources and the final setup costs. Once it's open, girls will get regular access to computers and digital training for the first time, run by local facilitators who know the community
