Your donation will help bring the power of music to people living with dementia. Through singing, movement, and shared experiences, we can encourage self-expression, strengthen wellbeing, build meaningful connections, and create moments of joy that stay with people long after the music ends.

Around 9,000 people in Edinburgh are living with dementia, a figure expected to rise to 10,000 by 2030. Dementia can affect memory, communication, confidence, and identity, often leading to isolation and loneliness. While many support services exist, opportunities to participate can become more limited as dementia progresses, leaving people with fewer ways to stay connected, express themselves, and experience a sense of belonging.
Music has a unique ability to reach people living with dementia in ways that words often cannot. Through singing, movement, and shared creativity, our use of music helps people reconnect with memories and experience moments of joy. We encourage participants to create their own songs, dance together, and reminisce through music, strengthening confidence, identity, and meaningful social connection.
