Women and girls from global majority communities face significant barriers in accessing safe, culturally competent support when experiencing domestic abuse, harmful practices, racism, poverty and mental health challenges. Many face isolation, language barriers, insecure immigration status and discrimination within mainstream services. Without specialist advocacy, women and girls risk remaining trapped in unsafe situations and unable to access the rights, protection and support they need.

Apna Haq provides specialist, culturally competent advocacy for women and girls experiencing domestic abuse, harmful practices and related inequalities. We support women to improve safety, access housing, legal protection, benefits and emotional support, while advocating with agencies including police, schools, health and social care to ensure women and girls are heard, protected and treated fairly.
