Cotswolds Arts though Schools takes art, music, dance, drama and oracy in 70 local primary schools for nearly 13000 children. Research shows that the arts are vitally important to the develoment of children's brains and creative abilities and that they help children do better in all subjects

The evidence of over a thousand studies is that children develop better and become more creative when they are exposed to the arts. An arts-rich environment reduces absenteeism, improves joy in the day and helps performance in all subjects. Currently children are deprived by virtue of school budgets and lack of skilled staff.

Our partenrship of local arts organisations takes professional artists, musicians, dance and drama specialists in to schools providing regular workshops and teacher training and in some cases weekly specialist teaching. It is transformative for the lives of children and the work of the schools and is hugely appreciated. We monitor the impact we are having to help develop the most suitable programmes in partnership with the schools.
