CRCC provides a free specialist counselling service for women and girls who have been subjected to sexual violence at any time in their lives. Last year we saw a 90% increase in referrals to the service compared to five years ago. We need funding to help match this need and demand for our support.

With 71,540 rapes recorded in 2025, just 2.8% of those cases having charges brought and for those 2.8%, survivors often waiting more than two years for their case to go to court, our life-changing counselling service is essential for women and girl survivors of sexual violence and abuse. More and more women and girls need our support and for longer. But right now we are struggling to match that demand due to lack of funding. We currently have a funding shortfall of over £70,000 to fill.
Additional funding will enable us to get women and girls into life-saving trauma-informed counselling. Every £750 raised provides 15 counselling sessions for a survivor of sexual violence. The feedback from women and girls who have used our counselling service is that our user-led service in a safe women-only space is crucial in helping them cope with the impacts of sexual violence and abuse.
