FareShare Sussex & Surrey rescues surplus food and moves it through our local network so households which are struggling can access good, fresh food. This winter, your support helps community fridges, food banks and local groups keep people fed.

Over the last five years, a typical shopping basket has risen by almost 40%, and one in seven households with children are now experiencing food insecurity. Families across Sussex & Surrey face a brutal winter of rising food prices, higher energy bills and fuel costs, plus the added pressure of Christmas. Global instability, conflict and supply chain disruption are pushing essentials further out of reach, hitting households already close to food poverty the hardest.
We tackle food insecurity by turning surplus food into a stable, affordable supply for local families, providing an element of stability in a world of increasing uncertainty. Working with 248 charities, we redistribute 2,651 tonnes of good‑to‑eat food across Sussex & Surrey, providing 6.26 million meals to 28,520 people each week. This ensures reliable access to nutritious food, prevents waste, strengthens community support networks and helps frontline organisations put resources where needed.
