We are the only specialised domestic abuse service in our local authority. We support women and children who have, or who are, experiencing domestic abuse. We offer a needs led, trauma informed service to reduce risk, increase safety, provide emotional support and increase knowledge and awareness.

In the year 2023-2024, Police Scotland recorded 1015 incidents of domestic abuse within Stirlingshire. 81% of these were recorded as a female victim and a male perpetrator. 90% of these incidents are recorded as having taken place in a home or dwelling. This figure is only the tip of the iceberg as many women and children do not report their abuse due to fear of not believed or supported or fear of consequence from the abuser. Coercive control still goes unrecognised and unchallenged by many.
We have Independent Domestic Abuse Advocates (IDAA) who are qualified to support women and children at high risk who work with women and partner agencies to safety plan according to need. We offer ongoing emotional and practical support. Refuge accommodation, needs led support for children and young people, outreach support for those in rural areas and a programme of education and training sessions for schools, businesses and professionals across the authority in order. We campaign for change.
