Wolo Foundation was established in 2019 by our CEO Fler Wright following her cancer diagnosis, which exposed a critical gap in support for families facing cancer. A cancer diagnosis affects every aspect of family life. People come to us because they are concerned of the impact on them physically, emotionally and financially. Wolo are there to plug that gap. By 2030 it's estimated there will be 168,600 people living with or beyond a cancer diagnosis in the South East of England.
Wolo solves the challenges families face after a cancer diagnosis by providing bespoke practical, emotional, and wellbeing support. We fund therapies, free family events, run a 6-week wellness course and offer social groups to reduce isolation. We arrange cleaners, maintenance, or sourcing items, to ease pressure and help families focus on recovery and time together. We support with end-of-life planning too, which includes our Wolo Shoebox to keep information for others to know in an emergency.
