The arts are a vital tool for learning and development in primary schools, yet they are steadily disappearing. Tight budgets and overstretched resources have led to a sharp decline in both access to and quality of arts education. Without creative opportunities, children’s wellbeing and mental health can suffer - particularly for those who find traditional learning challenging or struggle to express themselves each day.
By delivering weekly high quality, performing arts sessions at a reduced cost in areas of high deprivation, our charity ensures children can access a creative education who might otherwise miss out. Integrating arts and cultural learning across the whole school can have a direct and lasting impact. Our evaluation shows participating children are more likely to improve academic attainment and future employment prospects, reduce inequality, with potential lifetime benefits of £2,300 per child.
