After months of uncertainty, people living with the rare and incurable blood cancers WM and LPL are often left without answers, even when they receive a diagnosis. 66% of patients receive no disease-specific information, and 5% leave without knowing it's even a blood cancer. As a result, patients feel isolated and abandoned and with no idea where to turn at a time when they most need support.

An estimated 4,000 people in the UK are living with WM and LPL, many without access to specialist information or support. WMUK will address this by expanding its nurse-led Support Line, creating new expert-led resources, webinars and videos, and strengthening communications to reach and engage more patients. Funding will also support education for healthcare professionals, improving awareness, diagnosis experience, patient care and quality of life across the WM community.
