Adults will gain literacy, numeracy and livelihood skills through learning circles, including climate-smart agriculture training, before progressing to savings groups. Together, these increase incomes, improve food security and help families build sustainable, resilient futures.

Beneficiaries
In the DRC, poverty, food insecurity and illiteracy prevent families from building secure futures. Women are particularly affected, with limited access to education and economic opportunities. Many families rely on small-scale farming but struggle to earn enough to meet their needs. Conflict and displacement have forced many to rebuild their lives in new communities. Illiteracy means even everyday tasks such as reading medicine packets or understanding market prices become difficult.
Funding raised through this appeal will support the first two years of a three-year programme, reaching 1200 adults over two years (70% women). Participants will join literacy circles before progressing into self-managed savings groups. They will receive training in financial literacy, small business development and improved agricultural practices. Families will be better equipped to provide for their children, recover from the effects of conflict and displacement, and build more stable futures.
