Support people with prior convictions into sustainable employment. Our hardship fund is essential for meeting the small yet prohibitive costs of basic items to help someone start work, eg: first month’s travel pass, mobile top-ups, work wear and ID. Our hampers provide delicious Christmas treats.

Only 31% of ex-prisoners are in work 6 months after release, around 62% of those who served short sentences will have committed another crime within 2 years of release. This has a detrimental effect on their children, on communities and on the economy. Most don’t know how to disclose their conviction, write a CV, access training, give a good interview or sustain work. Many won’t have the necessary ID to start work credit on their mobile phones, money for bus tickets, or up-to-date qualifications
We deliver a smooth transition for our candidates from unemployment to paid work. Our support removes the additional stress of travel, what to wear, and false starts due to lack of Right to Work ID. We actively seek new employers and job vacancies as well as manage relationships with existing businesses (a mix of local and national) to see our candidates interviewed and placed. Our in-work mentoring helps drive excellent job retention rates - with two-thirds passing their probationary period.
