We provide complementary therapy for palliative care patients and their families in hospital and the community. These holistic therapies help manage physical symptoms, improve comfort and support wellbeing during a very difficult time. We also support staff working in this environment.

People receiving palliative care often live with pain and a range of difficult physical symptoms, alongside complex emotional and psychological challenges. Their families and carers are also under significant pressure as they support a loved one through a life-limiting illness. While clinical care focuses on medical needs, many people benefit from additional holistic support to help ease symptoms and improve comfort.
To support palliative care in our hospitals and in the community, we fund complementary therapies including massage, reflexology, Reiki and relaxation techniques These therapies can help ease physical symptoms like pain and tension, and support patients and families to feel more comfortable and relaxed. Delivered across wards and in community settings, the service provides an additional layer of care focused on comfort, improved wellbeing and symptom relief alongside medical treatment.
