Local Pantries bring communities together around food, easing the pressure of high living costs. We are raising funds to open new Pantries and support our network of 115 Pantries, so they can focus on helping members access affordable food and building community resilience.

7.5m people (11% of the UK population, and 18% of children) are in households experiencing food poverty - and now we face yet more increases in food prices, caused by war and climate change. Food insecurity has a terrible impact on people's mental health and wellbeing, and leaves people and communities feeling isolated and disconnected. Projects responding to all of this are being hit by rising prices, reduced food supplies, and other challenges.

Built on dignity, choice and hope, Pantries offer a sustainable way to move out of food insecurity - and build community. In exchange for a small membership fee, a Pantry allows members to choose their own food and save money - and also offers wraparound support. Big Give funding will help us support 13,000 households who are members of 115 Pantries UK-wide, as well as working with community partners like schools and food banks to open new Pantries.
