Street Storage is the only charity in the UK providing people experiencing homelessness with free, accessible, and safe storage for their belongings. This reduces stigma, the chance of theft, loss or damage, and the physical, mental and emotional strain of someone carrying their life on their back.

If you had to leave your home today, what would you take? What would you have to leave behind? For people forced into homelessness, this is a reality. With little time to do an impossible task, they then face questions like: Will I be able to carry this all day? If I sleep, will my belongings be there when I wake up? Will they be damaged by the weather? What if I lose my passport or right to work documents? How will I go to a job interview carrying everything I own?

Storing is by referral, from charities, local authorities, support services, or people themselves. We then speak to the person wishing to store to understand their situation and if we can help. Once storing, people can visit during our daily drop-in times to access belongings. We also offer: A relaxing space to rest, charge phones, have a hot drink and access the Internet One-to-one support from our own staff or trusted partners. Emergency fund to buy small items to address an immediate need.
