In Sierra Leone, being a woman is not easy. Inequality shapes daily life, and the load women carry is far greater than most people ever see. In some areas, women do almost all the work of collecting water; in others, they face rising seas, disappearing mangroves, and growing food insecurity. With few chances to earn or lead, women’s voices are often missing where decisions are made. These pressures deepen poverty and put whole communities at risk.

We support women in two districts to lead the change. In Kenema, 160 young women learn to repair broken water pumps, bringing clean water closer to 5,000+ people. In Pujehun, women restore 10 hectares of mangroves, protecting 10,000+ residents and improving food security. Across both areas, women gain skills, income, and a real say in their community’s future.
