Sierra Leone’s secondary school girls' are being excluded from the future workforce as digital and technology-based jobs become one of the fastest growing areas of global employment. The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report highlights technology and digital skills as critical to future economic participation, (https://reports.weforum.org/docs/WEF_Future_of_Jobs_Report_2025.pdf} yet many girls' schools in Sierra Leone cannot provide access to digital skills, computers or the internet.
AWOGA UK will contribute to the reduction of the digital skills gap for secondary school girls in Sierra Leone by establishing a secure, solar-powered 60-seat ICT laboratory for AWMS pupils; improving access to technology education where infrastructure is currently limited. The project combines digital infrastructure with teacher upskilling to strengthen long-term ICT delivery. Thus helping girls develop skills needed for employment, entrepreneurship and more financial independence as adults.
