50 million working-age adults worldwide stutter. Too many are passed over in interviews or never hired - not for lack of talent, but for how they speak. Employers miss out on a remarkable talent pool. Our first wave of Practice Interviews was a success, making 91% of participants more confident. We need to fund our second wave, reaching more people who stutter and more employers in more countries as AI, efficiencies, and the absence of stuttering in recruitment agendas make the problem worse.
Our entire team and board stutter; lived experience drives everything we do. Our next wave will tackle both sides – expanding our global online practice interview events that match people who stutter with volunteer interviewers - many of whom stutter too. We'll train more HR teams and recruiters to recognise and value stuttering talent. With your support, we will reach new countries and languages, train more employers, and improve access for under-represented groups including women who stutter.
