Many young people are disconnected from education, employment and training. Nearly one million young people across the UK are now NEET (not in employment, education or training) with poor mental health, educational disengagement and disadvantage increasing the risk of long-term unemployment, social exclusion and involvement in the criminal justice system. The Clink believes the best way to reduce offending is to prevent it by creating pathways to opportunity before problems become entrenched.

The Clink Training Café at Guildford Crown Court will provide a 12-week programme combining accredited City & Guilds hospitality training, real work experience and personalised support. Young people will gain qualifications, practical skills and confidence while working in a live café environment. A dedicated Youth Support Worker will help them overcome barriers and progress into employment, education or further training.
