Christmas should be a time of joy, excitement and making happy memories. But for a child fleeing domestic abuse, it can mean leaving behind home, school, friends and treasured belongings, keeping only what they can carry. Refuge gives families safety, but many children arrive frightened, unsettled and carrying trauma. They need specialist support to heal, rebuild confidence and begin to believe in a hopeful future. 

With your support, 200 children and their mothers will receive the specialist care they need to recover after domestic abuse. Hestia’s dedicated Children and Family Workers will offer one-to-one emotional and practical support, helping children feel safe, understand what they have experienced and begin to heal. Festive celebrations, creative activities and trips will bring moments of joy, strengthen family bonds and help children create happy memories for the future.
