Our dedicated Family Support Workers support children up to the age of 13 and families facing multiple interlinking disadvantages, including domestic abuse, family breakdown, mental health difficulties, low income and social isolation, which negatively impact wellbeing, relationships and long-term outcomes. The need for this support is growing, evidenced by waiting lists and rising thresholds for statutory social work referrals, leaving many families without timely help and at risk of crisis.
Welcare’s Family Support Workers will support children and families by delivering tailored 1:1 family support and evidence-based group programmes. Using trauma-informed, strengths based approaches, Welcare will help families build resilience, improve relationships and access essential services, preventing issues from escalating and enabling children to thrive within safer, more stable family environments.
