Our project supports disadvantaged young people (aged 16+) into sustainable employment and away from offending through tailored one-to-one support, training, employability workshops and employer partnerships, whilst advocating for opportunities for those with criminal records and neurodivergence.

Many young people in Wandsworth and surrounding areas face significant barriers to employment, especially those with criminal records, special educational needs, exclusion from education, or unstable personal circumstances. Without support, they are more likely to experience poverty, poor mental health, social isolation and reoffending. Young people are often passed between agencies and disengage before receiving meaningful help. There is a critical need for personalised employment support.
Carney’s Community provides intensive, holistic employment support through one-to-one support, accredited training, employment workshops, employer engagement, paid work opportunities at Carney’s and ongoing support once young people enter work. We help young people overcome barriers such as offending histories, SEND needs and lack of experience.
