We are seeking funding to cover the core costs of delivering our services in North East England. Our mission is to build hope in the community by supporting prison leavers with resettlement, reducing poverty, building self-confidence, and promoting wellbeing.

Our judicial system and prisons are under severe pressure, and we expect demand for our services to grow as changes to the judicial process lead to earlier releases, with some people serving only 40% of their sentence to help ease overcrowding. This will increase the need for long-term, client-centred support for vulnerable people leaving prison and returning to the community, which is the area in which we specialise.

We want to make our services more sustainable. Our Chaplain has more than 18 years of experience serving in HM Prisons and over 13 years of supporting prison leavers in the community. Last year, we supported 19 clients. We are seeking to strengthen our current staffing with assistant and volunteer support so that our chaplaincy work can continue and grow safely, reach more clients, and improve support for both individuals and group activities.
