As the cost of living intensifies the financial strain on our chorister families increases. Nearly half of our young choristers need a bursary for the duration of their five-year musical training to be part of Salisbury Cathedral's Choir. These range from a small amount to nearly 100% of the fees. A bursary can bridge the gap between the dream and reality of accepting a valued place in the Choir. We need to raise £255,000 this financial year to be able to offer this financial assistance.

Salisbury Cathedral Choral Foundation was established in 1996 to provide means-tested bursaries, helping children from families who might otherwise be unable to afford the fees associated with a musical education. By relieving financial barriers we ensure that a musically talented child can benefit from the life-changing opportunities being a chorister brings. Over 50% of our choristers receive some level of financial support giving them the freedom to excel in their musical studies.
