Every year, roughly 1,500 service personnel are medically discharged with profound injuries. When the support of the military falls away, many struggle physically, emotionally and financially. On average, the veterans we support have been out of the Armed Forces for 6 years and are 39 years of age. They come to us with little hope and motivation. It’s our job to turn things around for them and their loved ones.

SWV’s principal aim is to enable wounded veterans to movefrom injury to independence. To be there for all who need us,for as long as they need us. We offer six comprehensive programme pathways that are designed to support veterans during all stages of their recovery. These include sports rehabilitation, pain management, mentoring, mental health and employment support. Of the veterans we help, more than 90% go on to successfully secure occupation, training or employment.
