We are facing a simultaneous hunger and food waste crisis. Together, we can turn an environmental problem into social good by rescuing quality surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and sharing it with charities to bring health, dignity and joy to people living in hunger in the south west.

Over a million people in the south west are living in poverty, facing insurmountable barriers to the healthy diets they need to thrive. Meanwhile, the UK food industry wastes enough food for 10 billion meals every year before it even reaches people’s homes. As prices of food, fuel and other daily essentials rocket, thousands across the region this winter will face impossible challenges, with many forced to choose between heating their homes and putting enough food on the table.
Our work is a testament to what happens when a community comes together. We work with 500 food suppliers – from local farms to national supermarkets – to rescue tonnes of food from waste each year. Once it reaches us, 320 dedicated volunteers pack and deliver food for millions of meals. Last year we reached 370 charities, schools and community hubs. Unlike a food bank serving one local community, we operate at scale, tackling the injustice of who gets to afford a healthy diet across the region.
