We’ve built two new houses, adding another 14 rooms to our provision for young people facing homelessness. Help us make the houses into homes this Christmas. Funding will pay for new beds, mattresses and bedding, giving a young person a bed this Christmas, and a chance to build a brighter future

In 2024-2025 one young person became homeless or at risk of homelessness approximately every 4 minutes in the UK. Demand for our supported housing outstrips our provision. Last year we could only provide accommodation to 21% of those referred to us. With the ongoing cost of living crisis leading to more family breakdowns and more evictions from rented accommodation, we are seeking to provide more accommodation and support for those in need to help them get back on their feet.
In 2025/26, YMCA East Surrey provided 128 young people facing homelessness with a safe and secure place to live. In the same year we provided 24,588 nights of accommodation and 18,928 hours of support to young people in housing crisis. Our current provision is 75 rooms which will shortly rise to 89 when our two new Move On Houses, with seven rooms each, have been finished and furnished, giving us another 14 rooms to house young people in housing crisis.
