Yet mental health research remains severely underfunded, receiving just £9 per affected person compared with £228 for cancer research. At MQ, we invest in research across neuroscience, psychology and social sciences, while supporting early-career researchers to improve understanding, treatment and prevention of mental illness, especially for children and young people.
