Almost 1 in 4 adults are currently living with a mental health condition. This will only worsen as mental health continues to slip down the national agenda. Funding for these services dropped to just 8.4% of the 2026/27 NHS budget, despite accounting for 20% of the disease burden. This has left 1.8 million people waiting for mental health treatment, creating a gap in care that the NHS is unable to fill. We have seen this firsthand – over 2 in 3 of our callers have nowhere else to go for support.

With the cutting of budgets and growing waiting lists, accessing necessary support has become incredibly difficult. Our services are free and accessible, ensuring those in need can contact us no matter their circumstances. Our specialist helpline, SANEline, is open daily from 4pm to 10pm. For those requiring ongoing, reliable support over a series of weeks, we offer Call Backs. Our written services provide support over email and text for people, such as carers, who are unable to call.
