Every woman and girl affected by sexual violence deserves to be heard, believed, and supported. SARSAS provides specialist services including trauma-informed counselling, helpline support, outreach, and peer support groups, helping survivors take small but powerful steps towards healing and hope.

Impact areas
Sexual violence is endemic. It disproportionately affects women and girls, and the trauma it causes can impact every aspect of a survivor’s life. Around 80% of our clients experience mental health difficulties, including self-harm and suicidal thoughts. It can lead to job loss, substance misuse, physical health problems, and homelessness. Yet specialist support is chronically underfunded; last year we received 1,913 referrals (up 260% since 2019), and demand continues to grow.
SARSAS is a specialist charity led by, for, and with women and girls, offering a range of trauma-informed services, including: a confidential helpline, 1:1 counselling, specialist support work for survivors with complex needs, drop-in sessions, community outreach, and peer-support and self-care groups. We specialise in providing tailored support to people with multiple, complex needs, including autistic people, people with physical or learning disabilities, and LGBTQI people.
