Our goal is to give children the best possible start in life by supporting children under five and their families across Essex who face significant challenges. These include poverty, physical or learning disabilities, domestic abuse, placed in temporary housing, mental or physical health difficulties, social isolation, and bereavement. By providing early, targeted support, we help families build stability, strengthen wellbeing, and improve outcomes for young children during early years.
Home-Start Essex offers support to local Essex families with young children through a range of services, including: • Volunteer Family Support Mentors – visiting families at home weekly for those in urgent need • Family Support Groups • Wellbeing Support Groups • Providing essential items for families living in poverty or temporary accommodation • Behavioural and SEND Support • Counselling Services • Telephone Support• Baby Massage
