Living It Up is a Bedford-based charity providing social, educational and recreational opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism. We’re asking for your help to raise money towards rent of our building, St Cuthberts Hall, a space that is essential for us to continue our work.

People with learning disabilities and autism have fewer chances to socialise and take part in leisure activities (mencap.co.uk), leading to loneliness and isolation. For example, many people we support are forced to leave events earlier than they want to due to the restrictions of their care. Loneliness is associated with physical and mental health problems and poorer quality of life, which has a devastating impact on the individual, their friends and family, and the wider community.

Living It Up provides opportunities to help people with learning disabilities and autism reach their full potential. We value people, listen, and co-create services that help people meet their needs and aspirations. Our mission is to reduce social isolation and loneliness through events, social projects and education in the performing and creative arts. We promote social inclusion for people with learning disabilities and autism and provide services in order to improve their conditions of life.
