Five billion people worldwide lack access to safe, surgical care. Healthcare deteriorates further and faster during war and catastrophic events. War injuries are complex, specialist surgical skills are lacking, medical resources are scarce, surgical teams are stretched thin, and hospital emergency rooms are poorly managed. Hospitals are are also often targeted as a weapon of war, inflicting further chaos. Our vision is a world where safe, skilled surgical care is available to all.
We train medical professionals to become multi-skilled surgeons that save more lives in countries impacted by war and catastrophe. Since the David Nott Foundation was created in 2015, we have trained over 2,500 surgeons and anaesthetists, delivered 77 courses and visited 19 countries. Creating a network of skilled, surgical lifesavers in the world’s most dangerous corners.
