Child poverty affects 30% of children in the North East, leaving too many families unable to afford basic essentials. Parents are forced into heartbreaking choices between food, heating, clothing or even a safe cot for their baby. Without these basics, children miss out on the safe, nurturing start they need to thrive, impacting their health, wellbeing and future. Every child deserves safety, stability and the chance to thrive.
Through professional referrals from organisations including social services, midwives and housing associations, Love, Amelia provides bespoke, dignity-led support packages tailored to each child’s needs. These include clothing bundles, toys, prams, safe cots, toiletries and bedding essentials to help children thrive. In 2025, we delivered 3,648 clothing bundles, 1,679 toiletry packs, 895 mattresses, 1,179 bedding packs and 1,540 toy bundles to families facing hardship.
