Canine Partners have been creating life-transforming partnerships for over three decades. We are aiming to raise funds to breed, train and support more expert assistance dogs to give people with physical disabilities greater confidence and independence.

The world is full of barriers that exclude disabled people from everyday life, but our dogs help break them down and open doors to independence. Our dogs bring confidence, companionship, increased social interaction and help to reduce reliance on carers and family members. There is increasing demand for our services, and we have over 80 applicants on our waiting list; we are working hard to meet the individual needs and lifestyles of all those waiting, and those who may apply in future.
We work with some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, who receive a profound and lasting range of benefits when partnered with our expertly-trained dogs. We train our dogs to carry out practical tasks such as picking up dropped items, getting in and out of bed, undressing, opening doors and fetching help in an emergency. As a result, many people experience reduced isolation, renewed motivation to pursue education or employment, gaining the confidence to live the life they want to.
