Children’s fair access to creativity has been decimated by austerity and the cost-of-living crisis. With state schools strapped for resources and child poverty rates averaging 44% in our local boroughs, we recognise that the children who could benefit most from creative opportunities are the least likely to access them. But creativity is not a luxury – with proven benefits to a child’s wellbeing and educational engagement, all children deserve access to culture and creativity.

Our Creative Hub gives 1000+ children yearly the chance to experience theatre-making, first-hand, for free. We deliver free creative workshops where children, families and schools get to grips with what it takes to bring our theatre shows to life. Taking place at the Unicorn, in schools and, from 2027, in local community hubs to reach families where they are, these workshops offer genuine creative engagement, creating a real sense of ownership and creative confidence for those who take part.
